CURVED BUGLE
Arsène-Zoë Lecomte, Paris (1818-1892).
Stamped on the bell: “Lecomte et Cie. 12 rue st. Gilles, Paris. »
He developed the export of his instruments, particularly to the United States and Australia, by participating in international fairs: Philadelphia (1876) Melbourne (1881)…
The wars of colonization, the American Civil War (1861-1865) and the Franco-Prussian War of 1870 significantly increased the demand for military instruments. Several European manufacturers therefore competed in inventions to adapt to this new clientele.
This model of curved bugle, commonly called a “kidney bugle”, does not seem to have been manufactured after the closure of the Lecomte workshop.
Tonality: Bb.
Distance between the bell (included) and the mouth: 42.5cm.
